The Arteminas region (Japanese: 同じの Onaji no) is a region of the Pokémon world. It is located east of Sinnoh. It is the setting of the anime series: Pokemon The New Series. It is inspired by the real-world country of Indonesia. The names of most of the cities in Indonesia are made of two words put together (New Land, Dam Wood, Willow Tree, Last Grove, etc.) rather than colors or plants as Kanto and Johto had done. Professor Maple of Willowtree Villiage offers the starter Pokémon known as Oshawott, Snivy, Tepig, Pansage, Pansear or Panpour to Trainers beginning their journey of this small land.
Etymology and Design Concept Edit
Carter Ajamie has stated that Arteminas's name comes from "art", describing the region's abundant colors and "minus", describing the region's small size
The Arteminas region is based off the real world country of Indonesia, but it is rotated 180 degrees. This is to make it less, but more like Indonesia
Cities, Routes and other Locations Edit
Arteminas has twelve cities and towns and a Pokémon League. Since the majority of the cities and towns of Arteminas are immersed into nature, there aren't many large cities comparable to Unova's Castelia City or Kalos's Lumiose City.
The Arteminas region has 19 different routes, which are passages permitting Trainers to travel from one location to the next with relative ease. Much like Sinnoh after it, Arteminas's routes are numbered so that they don't follow sequence directly from previously-known regions' routes. Routes in Arteminas are numbered from 301 to 319. Similar to the Hoenn Region, this region has many sea routes and islands
